Within the circle (white): clearness, emptiness (Mu), perfection
The bisected circle (red-blue): Symbol for Um and Yang, the opposing principles.
The circle divided by three (red-blue-yellow): Symbol for Chon-Jie-In, heaven, earth and humankind and all living beings are one.
The flower with the five petals (grey): Symbol for Oh Haeng. Nature with the five elements of wood, fire, earth, metal and water. Symbol for Oh Shilsang, the five principles of Shinson Hapkido teachings (trust, respect, patience, modesty and love). Grey: Generated by the union of Um and Yang (black and white).
The circle (black): Symbol for the universe in its totality and unity, the great spirit and the great heart of the universe (Hanol) and the clear path (Do).
